About

My name is Molly Gibbons and I decided to launch Molly’s Captivating Crafts in March 2014. I sell a selection of handmade items and also teach a variety of creative workshops. The latter of which began in April 2014 with my children’s workshops, just in time for the Easter holidays!

If you can name it and it’s craft-related, the chances are I love it. From felt making and hand sewing to embroidery and knitting, my passion is to create something new and exciting. Using these skills I have produced cute cushion covers, funky rugs, knitted accessories and many other crafty pieces in-between.

I love the potential in new materials. Bright coloured felt, textured yarns, sequins, beads and vintage buttons are fantastic, but nothing excites me more than creating something new from the old. This is why recycled fabric from charity shops is my favourite material to use when creating my handmade pieces.

After making my pieces I often take photographs of my handmade items set against the natural environment. I love the outdoors. And I enjoy using vines, fresh green grass and spiralling branches to frame my pieces, as I feel it adds a unique aspect to my work.

On my blog I have written tutorials on how to make things, as well as great ideas for parents looking to occupy their kids during the holidays. I will also be running a variety of workshops, so why not come along, make something amazing and learn a new exciting craft?
